Why Do They Test You So Late In Pregnancy For Diabetes Why Do They Test So Late In Pregnancy For Gestational Diabetes?

Why do they test so late in pregnancy for Gestational Diabetes? - why do they test you so late in pregnancy for diabetes

You have to say only 14 weeks pregnant and my doctors, they want to test for gestational diabetes. Why is it important to have this test? The baby's body is already developed, why not test much earlier in pregnancy? What happens if I do not say the test? Then nothing is done wrong?

Now, after twice DG, I think testing is important. It is caused by the placenta is able to destroy, to break her body to produce insulin and metabolize sugar properly, and that does not happen often, until the hormones back in the 3rd Quarter Change the necessary preparations for birth.
1. The event is one hour, except that, in return for a schedule of 3, the same procedure. Since I was before, was tested for 6 weeks, and I'm on a diet, medication, and I see the doctor every 2 weeks.
Like a previous poster said, one of the most important things, the clock is a big kid. DG babies born vaginally often with broken arms or broken left shoulder / collarbone or get stuck in the birth canal. You can also plenty of amniotic fluid, so that they can live, so there may be problems caused by it. The most dangerous thing is important to note the fact that cause gestational diabetes and placenta early May, the regular decline, the fetal death if not properly monitored can lead to begin. DG often culminatesIn a Caesarean section, but not always.
The first test is very simple, you wake up in the morning (fasting is usually but not always recommended) go to the lab, drink a small bottle of sweet fragrance of orange or lemon-lime soda (not really a pop-up) and get blood taken exactly 1 hour later. With all the risks, GD, I always recommend testing this, you can provide. It's an easy thing to do to ensure that they get appropriate care and care for your baby's life if s / HES born. Besides being more appropriate or possible for oxygen and sugar, GD babies tend to be very healthy if proper care.

Gestational diabetes is usually only towards the end of pregnancy (with the exception of) over a state.

Another reason is late if the proof that DG is not such a significant effect on the child during the early development and later in the pregnancy when high levels of sugar can lead to excessive growth (and complications that delivery), kidney damage and Injuries in the eye. High concentrations of insulin is associated with GD, can also cause hypoglycemia at birth can be very dangerous for the baby.

Another reason is is important to know that Di-S can be very dangerous for you. Kidneys, pancreas, retina damage and coma are all the complications associated with uncontrolled GD. Is it bad enough that even a comprehensive diabetes, which consists of the supply and can cause all the attendant complications.

It is a simple test: give you a drink that is sugar and a blood test immediately before and 1 h later.

It is at the end is worth it.

Good luck.

Not something for diabetes, dealing with, if you are pregnant, want to mess. If you do not know you can into a diabetic coma. If you baby sugar in the blood that you are to produce more insulin and when they are born to be controlled blood sugar can harm a child. There are several reasons why you have done. It is a simple test that takes a glass of waiting an hour to perform blood tests. Some women lose after pregnancy. Diabetes can also cause high blood pressure can lead to preeclampsia I had when I was pregnant. My son was born 5 weeks early and 8 pounds 10 ounces and had to remain in hospital for 20 days because his lungs were underdeveloped
